Mrs. Emma Mercer Dies Wednesday In Houston Hospital
Mrs. Emma Mercer of Houston died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in a hospital in Houston. She had been a patient there for some time.
Mrs. Mercer was born in Otto, and was the daughter of Jacob Wolf, early pioneer.
Funeral services will be held in Houston at 9 a.m. Friday with graveside services Friday at 4:00 p.m. in Criswell Cemetery near Mart.
Survivors include one brother, Albert J. Wolf of Mart; two sisters, Mrs. Elisa James of China Spring and Mrs. Sophia Maines of Marlin.
Surviving children are, Mrs. Helen Arnold of Albuquerque, N. M., Miss Pauline Mercer of Eugene, Ore., Miss Cleo Myrtle Mercer of Houston, Mrs. Maurine Alice Arnold of Roswell, N. M., Mrs. Gladys Luisa Alexander of Ravendale, Washington, Mrs. Laura Emma Hasbrouck of Winslow, Ariz., Mrs. Freda Vida Lynch of Pasadena, William J. Mercer of Kingsburg, Calif., Lt. Col. Thomas Albert Mercer of the U.S. Air Force in Avaino, Italy, and Rev. Walter Wolf Mercer of El Varano, Calif. Also, 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

MRS. EMMA WOLF MERCER, 77, 7518 Buena Vista, passed away Wednesday in a local hospital. Survivors: Daughters: Miss Pauline Rose P. Mercer, Eugene, Oregon; Mrs. Helen Katherine Arnold, Albuquerque, New Mexico: Miss Cleo Myrtle Mercer, Houston, Mrs. Maureen Alice Arnold, Roswell, New Mexico; Mrs. Gladys Luisa Alexander, Ravendale, Wash.; Mrs. Laura Emma Hasbrouck, Winslow, Ariz.; Mrs. Freda Viola Lynch, Pasadena; sons: Mr. William J. Mercer, Kingsburg, California; Lt. Col. Thomas Albert Mercer, U.S.A.F. Abino, Italy; Rev. Walter Wolf Mercer, El Verano, California; sisters: Mrs. Elisa James, China Springs, Texas; Mrs. Sophia Maines, Garland, Texas; brother: Albert J. Wolf, Mart, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 9 a.m. Friday, at Park Place Baptist Church. Graveside Services: 4 p.m. in the Criswell Cemetery, Marlin, Texas. Pallbearers: Leonard Wolf, Dwain Caddell, J. T. Wolf, John W. Morgan, Louie Wolf, Ronnie Smarrella, R. L. James, George Morgan.Family request donations be made to American Heart Society.
