Funeral Services for W. E. Bower, Ben Hur, Held Thursday
Wilburn Emmit Bower, 58, died at 9:15 p.m. June 25 at his home in the Ben Hur community.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Ben Hur Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Ball and Rev. Henry Brown officiating. Burial was in Criswell Cemetery near Ben Hur.
Mr. Bower was born in Limestone County. He married Ethel Brooks in 1926 at Big Hill. He was an employee of the Mexia State School. Mr. Bower was a member of the Ben Hur Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; one son, James Bower of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Guynell Read and Mrs. Davie Joy May, both of Fort Worth; two brothers, H. E. Bower of Groesbeck and Col. D. E. Bower of Waco; two sisters, Mrs. Zelda Rutherford of Mart and Mrs. Opal Justice of Groesbeck; and one grandchild.
