Falls County Man Drowns In Lampasas

Funeral services were to be held at 4 p.m. Monday for Henry Edward Hilbert, 43 of Hood Village, who drowned about 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the Lampasas river southeast of Belton while on a fishing trip. Mr. Hilbert, whose home is at Otto, Falls county, has been employed in the ordnance department at Camp Hood for almost three years.

He was fishing alone at the time of the accident and according to farm boys on the opposite side of the river, slipped into the stream after staking out a string of fish. The body was recovered at 2:15 p.m. by members of the Belton fire department.

Surviving are his wife and five children, Bethel Lane and Belva Jane, twin daughters, Giles Edward, Coy Wayne and Rex Allen; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Edward Hilbert St. of Otto; one brother, Herbert of Mart; two sisters, Mrs. Odie Pursche of Otto and Mrs. Bertha Kluck of Otto.
