Alfred Hayes Davis
Alfred Hayes Davis, of Marlin, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at age 53
.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tracy Sims officiating. Burial followed at Criswell Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Randy Burton, Bobby Cox, Curtis Jobe, Brent Johnson, Craig Colter, and Mark Johnson.
Alfred was born at Waco, Texas on December 28, 1955, to Levi Hayes Davis and Ella Nadine (Johnson) Davis. He grew up and graduated from school at Bruceville-Eddy. Alfred was united in marriage with Connie Criswell on February 29, 1988. They lived around or near the Limestone County area most of their lives, and in Marlin the past year. Alfred was a “jack of all trades,” including a painter, and most recently a crane operator in the construction field. His primary interests in life were his family, fishing, and his Harley.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father, Levi Hayes Davis; sister, Mary Louise Lewis;and brother, Chester Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Davis of Marlin; daughter, Vanessa Lloyd and husband Robert of Marlin; son, Levi Davis of Kosse; daughter, Tena Parker Wright and husband Adam of West; daughter, Wendi Miller of Marlin; two granddaughters, Jaylynn Grace Lloyd of Marlin and Sara Coker of Bremond; three grandsons, Andrew Parker of West, Lucas Coker of Bremond, and Eddie Coker of Bremond; his mother, Ella (Davis) Dawson of Waco; father-in-law, Tom Criswell of Groesbeck; four brothers, Alvin Davis of Eddy, Jimmy Davis of Crawford, Tommy Davis of Hewitt, Jack Dawson of Lorena; sister, Nancy Alexander of Moody; and brother-in-law, Terry Criswell of Kansas City, Missouri.
