Ethel Pulark
Ethel Pulark, 94, of Arlington, formerly of Mart, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 1998, in an Arlington hospital. Graveside services were held Sunday, April 26, at Criswell Cemetery.The Rev. Tim Watson officiated.
Mrs. Pulark was born Dec. 8, 1903, in Limestone County. She was a retired employee of Mexia State School. Her religious preference was that of the Baptist and she was a former member of the Mart Chapter of Eastern Star.
On May 26, 1926, she was married at Big Hill, Tx., to Wilburn Bower, who passed away on June 25, 1963. In May 1974, she was married at Sour Lake, Tx., to John Pulark, who passed away July 23, 1984.
Her survivors include two daughters and son-in-laws, Guynell & Glen Read, and Davie Joy & Bill Webb, all of Arlington; her daughter-in-law, Delanie Bower of Ben Hur; two stepdaughters, Shirley Floyd and Dorothy Vogel, both of Ft. Worth; three grandchildren, Brett Read and Gina Read, both of Arlington; and Gwen Gunter of Dahlonega, Georgia; and five great-grandchildren, Anna Read, Jenny and Susan Read, all of Arlington, and Brittany and Bryan Gunter, both of Dahlonega, Georgia.
Mrs. Pulark’s daughter, Margie Neal Bower, preceded her in death in 1937, and a son, James Wilburn Bower, passed away April 12, 1998.

Ethel Bower Purlark
Ethel Bower Pulark, 94, died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at a hospital in Arlington.
Graveside service was April 26 in Criswell Cemetery in Limestone County.
Ethel Bower Pulark was born Dec. 8, 1903, in Kosse. She retired Dec. 31, 1968 from Mexia State School MHMR. She was a member of White Settlement Baptist Church and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her zest for life and her love of music and her friends touched all who knew her. She was a resident of Fox Run Estates.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Wilburn Bower and John Purlark; a daughter Margie in 1937; and a son, James Bower on April 12, 1998.
Survivors are daughters, Guynell Read and husband Glenn, and Davie Webb and husband William, of Arlington; grandchildren, Brett Read and Gina Read of Arlington and Gwen Gunter of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Anna, Jenny and Susan Read of Arlington and Brittany and Bryan Gunter of Atlanta, Ga.; step-daughters, Dorothy Vogel and Shirley Floyd of Fort Worth; four nephews; one niece; many loving great-nephews and great-nieces; and many wonderful friends.Littlepage Funeral Home, Mart, Texas
