Joseph Walts, Bellmead, Dies; Rites Set Today
Joseph Alvie Walts of 225 Lopez Street in Bellmead died at 11:35 a.m. Friday in a local hospital. He was 55.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Criswell Church at Otto, Rev. Ed Mullin, Rev. T. E. Gassaway and Rev. Stubblefield officiating. Burial will be in Criswell Cemetery.
Mr. Walts was a retired rancher. He was born Oct. 18, 1907, in Thornton. He moved here from Tyler 18 months ago. He was a member of Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Walts of 225 Lopez; five daughters, Thelma Jenell Archer, Sondra Ann Walts and Joan Dean Walts, all of Waco, and Mrs. W. D. Youngblood of Route 2, Valley Mills; two sons, John Paxton Walts of Route 1, McGregor, and Alvie Darvin Walts of Dallas; five sisters, Mrs. J. E. Cannon, Mrs. H. C. Fowler and Mrs. W. A. McDaniel, all of Killeen, Mrs. Paul Papendorf of Stone Park, Ill., and Mrs. C. W. Schroeder of Marlin; five brothers, Billy L. Walts and R. F. Walts, both of Killeen, J. F. Walts of Mart, R. C. Walts of Waco and R. T. Walts of Wascom; and 11 grandchildren.
