MEETS DEATH BY DROWNING IN TANK
Body of Woman Discovered in Tank by Husband --- Efforts at Resuscitation Unavailing.
The body of Mrs. Charles King, 36, was found about ten o’clock Wednesday morning at her home near Groesbeck where she had fallen into a tank and met death by drowning.
She was accustomed to drawing water from the tank for her chickens, and it is believed that she went there for that purpose this morning at the time of the accident, and lost her balance and fell in the water. A few bruises and scratches on her face gave such evidence, it was said. She was alone on the place at the time. The body was discovered by her husband, and she was brought to a Marlin hospital, where artificial respiration was tried, but found of no value.
Gladys Hall King was born and reared in the community where she was living at the time of her death.
She is survived by her husband, Charles King; her father, Jim Hall, both of Groesbeck, route 4; one brother, Jimmy Hall of Otto; one sister, Mrs. R. E. Holden of Thornton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Criswell cemetery, with burial at that place. Rev. H. M. Smith, pastor of the Full Gospel church at Marlin, will conduct the services.
(Gladys' mother, Mary M., is buried at Criswell Cemetery.)
