It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Sue Gonzales. Debbie, 75 years young, was born March 14, 1949, and peacefully passed away on August 28, 2024. She is now walking with Jesus and many cherished loved ones that have passed before her. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Louis Gonzales, sisters Delores Regian and Karen Eaton. She is survived by her son, Eddie Castro, her Aunt Lois, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Debbie’s life was a testament to kindness, devotion, and love. She had a servant’s heart and was known for her unwavering kindness and thoughtfulness. She was a devoted Christian who loved her family deeply, taught Sunday school, and shared her faith and wisdom with others. Her shy nature never hindered her ability to listen without judgment, offering a comforting presence to those around her.
Debbie had a special bond with animals. She and her late husband, Louis, loved their many mini-Pinchers and took care of many stray animals in the neighborhood. She found joy in their companionship.
Debbie carried many fond memories from her time working at LaVega ISD. She loved the kids, teachers, and her coworkers, until her retirement. Debbie cherished her time talking on the phone, connecting with loved ones and friends. Her hardworking spirit and dedication were evident in all aspects of her life.
Debbie’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Visitation will be held at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m.
