Aubrey B. Stone, 67, of Marlin, entered into rest Sunday, June 29, 2008. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Adams Funeral Home chapel with James Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Criswell Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Stone was born March 28, 1941 in Little Elm Community in Limestone County, to William and Mina Mae Ray Stone. His family moved to Falls County in 1942. He attended elementary school at Criswell and McClanahan. Mr. Stone graduated from Marlin High School in 1959 and then attended Sam Houston State University. He married Janet J Price on May 18, 1961, in Madisonville, Texas. Aubrey worked for close to 30 years as a lab technician for U. S. Silica in Kosse, Texas. He spent his lifetime in Falls County farming and ranching. In addition to farming and ranching, he enjoyed gardening, barbequing, and playing dominoes. For several years he and his wife owned and raced horses.
He was preceded in death by his spouse on April 22, 2003; parents; and one brother, Conrad Stone. Survivors include his daughters, Donna and husband, Jes Scott of Marlin, and Kim and husband, Billy Sustaita of Dalhart, Texas; brothers, Winfred Stone of Waco, and Keith Stone and Terry Stone, both of Georgetown; sisters, Jo Ann Milnes-Cohn and Nelda Brown, both of Marlin; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
