Dorothy Wayne Garner Milliman
October 6, 1920 - November 22, 2010
Dorothy Wayne Milliman, 90, of Waco, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, November 22, 2010. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, at Riesel Cemetery with Tom Stoneham officiating. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr.
Dorothy was born October 6, 1920, in Pursley, Texas, to Delia and Wilburn Garner. She married James Darvin Milliman July 29, 1939, in Corsicana. They raised three daughters, JoAnn, Jadene, and Judy living in Mart and Waco. After the death of her husband in 1983, she worked at Hillcrest Hospital for a number of years, serving as a porter for patients going to surgery. She was a devout Christian and a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D.; her parents; brothers, W.F. and Jim Garner; her sister, Nita Lowe; and grandson, Jeremy.
She is survived by daughters, JoAnn Redden and husband, Louis, Jadene Walts and husband, Wayne, and Judy Blanton and husband, Wesley; grandchildren, Jeff, Melissa, Stephanie, Alan, and Heather; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brian, Bradley, Catherine, Jonathan, Austin, Chelsea, Chyene, and Celeste; great-great-grandchild, Hailee; sister, Sue Smiley; and brother, Dwayne Garner.
