                              Criswell School Burns

Classes Had Ended for Day; Blaze
                                   Blamed on Stove.

                          MARLIN, Jan. 28. --  Fire,
assumed to have originated from a
stove or flue, destroyed the Criswell
                       schoolhouse, near the Falls -
                       Limestone county line, about 4:30
                       o’clock Thursday afternoon after
classes had been ended for the day
and the teachers and students had
                       gone home.
                          Building and furnishings and a
quantity of school books were a
total loss.  The structure was of
                       an exceptionally good rural school
type, having been rebuilt a few
years ago.  Insurance of $2000 was
carried on the house and equipment.
