James D. (Happy) Hall
GOLINDA -- James D. (Happy) Hall of Golinda, a retired superintendent of maintenance for the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation, died Monday at his home. He was 69.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Golinda Baptist Church, the Rev. Kerry Groce officiating. Burial will be at Criswell Cemetery.
Mr. Hall was born April 16, 1924 in Limestone County. He attended school at Criswell and Big Hill. He married Geneva Easter in August 1942. They moved to Waco in 1952. Mr. Hall was a member of Golinda Baptist Church and the Golinda Volunteer Fire Department. He was on the Golinda City Council for the past year.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Joan Batts of Austin, Deborah King of Parkhill, Okla., and Charlotte Hall of Waco; two sons, Richard Hall of Mart and Jerry Hall of Golinda; a sister, Jewel Ferguson of Mexia; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Golinda Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
