MRS. ERSKINE OF ODDS AND MARLIN, DIES
Mrs. Clinton Erskine of Odds died in a Marlin hospital at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11. She had been in declining health and she and her husband had moved to 309 1/2 Chambers Street in Marlin last February, in order to be nearer medical treatment. She was 74 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at the chapel of Adams Funeral Home with burial in Criswell Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Groesbeck, will officiate.
She is survived by her husband, one son, J. W. Erskine of Waco; one daughter, Mrs. Charlie Harrell of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Moore and Mrs. Jay Saxon, of Marlin, and Mrs. Wyatt Jacobs of Rising Star; three grandchildren, James Harrell of Houston, Jeanette Harrell of Kountze, and Barbara Erskine of Waco.
Mrs. Erskine was the former Miss Bessie Mae Criswell, a daughter of T. L. Criswell and Mary Catherine Durham Criswell. She was married to Clinton Erskine on Nov. 28, 1912, at Odds and the couple continued to live in that community.
She was a member of the extinct Locust Grove Baptist Church at Odds.

MARLIN (SPL)--Mrs. Clinton Erskine, 74, of Marlin died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in a Marlin hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin with Rev. Jack Smith officiating and burial in Criswell Cemetery near Marlin.
Mrs. Erskine was born in the Odds community of Falls County. She married Clinton Erskine on Nov. 28, 1912, at Odds. She was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband; one son J. W. Erskine of 909 North Sixteenth Street, Waco; one daughter, Mrs. Charlie Harrell of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Moore and Mrs. Jay Saxon of Marlin and Mrs. Wyatt Jacobs of Rising Star; and three grandchildren.
