Jessie Caddell
Jessie Caddell, 94, of Groesbeck, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at a Mart nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco, with the Rev. Albert Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at Criswell Cemetery in Falls County. The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Caddell was born Jan. 15, 1905, in Navasota, Texas, the son of George Washington Caddell and Christine (Teenie) Bower Caddell. He married Nola Mae Oliver on April 3, 1926, in Big Hill, Texas. Nola Mae preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 1985. Mr. Caddell was a farmer all of his life.
He is survived by a son, James Lynn Caddell and wife Irene of Waco; three granddaughters, Barbara Fox and her husband Bill of Mart, Becky Manley and her husband Chris of Waco and Brenda Bennett and her husband Ben of Houston.
The pallbearers will be George Batey Jr., Benjamin Bennett, Charley Curry, Bill Fox, Christopher Manley and Carter Oliver.
Note: The tombstone lists the death date as October 18, and the obituary lists the date as October 19. Jessie Caddell passed away before midnight of October 18, but it was after midnight when the Justice of the Peace pronounced the death. -bf
