Helen Jean Briggs
April 29, 1931 - September 28, 2019

Helen Jean Briggs, of Thornton, passed away September 28, 2019 in Groesbeck, Texas at the age of 88. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in the Thornton Cemetery with Rev. Bill Wright, Sr. officiating.

Helen was born April 29, 1931 in Otto, Falls County, Texas to Fred and Edna Lee Burroughs Broxton. She worked as a beautician, for many years, prior to retirement.

Helen loved her family, and nothing made her happier than watching her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her yard and, truly, had a “green thumb” when it came to growing rose bushes. When her husband, Aubrey, was alive, she loved going with him to the pasture to help tend to the cows. Taking care of her family and providing them with a loving and happy home was Helen's goal in life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Fred and Edna Broxton; husband, Aubrey Briggs; sisters, Clara Faye Davis, Melba Joyce Dodson, Betty Motl; and brothers, David Fred Broxton and William Broxton.

Helen is survived by her loving children, Carol Slaten of Thornton and Bryan Briggs and wife, Nicole of Robinson; and grandchildren, Cailyn, Kenley and Kyler Briggs.
