Thirty-Fifth Annual Memorial Service

The thirty-fifth annual Criswell Memorial Service met on Sunday, June 8, 1986.

The program began at 10:30 a.m. with a hymn and prayer.  Oscar Grisham presided over a short business meeting.  The minutes were read and approved and the treasurer’s report was given.  Thomas Criswell mentioned that Criswell Cemetery is eligible for a historical plaque.

The mortuary list was read by David Stone.  Those deceased this past year were A. W. (Stinger) Walts, Jeremy Walts, Woodson Clemmons, Doris Stone, Marjorie Clewis, James R. Holden, Nola Caddell, R. F. Brackeen, Myrtle (Hall) Sanders, Edwin O. Haase, Jessie McClain and John Chane.

Our speaker, James Densman of Haskell, Texas, spoke on the “Faith of Our Forefathers.”

New directors nominated were David Stone, C. W. Boone and T. E. Criswell.

Special music was provided by Louie Hicks and Thomas Criswell and JoAnn Stone and Pam Brown.  The program ended with the benediction and grace for the noon meal.

A short directors meeting was held in the afternoon.  The same officers will serve for another year.
