February 26, 1943 - December 29, 2013
Emma Lee Walts Thomas, 70, of Waco, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29 at a local nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester Adams officiating. Burial will be at Criswell Cemetery near Otto. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 1 at the funeral home.
Emma was born February 26, 1943 in Otto, Texas to Thomas and Julia (Broxton) Walts. She was a care provider at Mexia State School for 12 years and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and her grandchildren were the love of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lellene Padgett and Martha Taylor; and brother, James “Bubba” Walts.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Fenske of Riesel, Belinda Christian and husband, Steve of Houston and Rhonda Alexander of Axtell; her son, Joseph “Petie” Tumlinson of Mexia; sister, Rilla Lewis of Groesbeck; brother, Larry Walts of Axtell; grandchildren, Brandon and Shane Fenske, Keith Tumlinson and Bradley and Carsyn Rose Christian; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be, Odie and Lonnie Taylor, Curtis Walts, Robert Padgett, Rick Ryer, Michael Frillou and Keith Padgett. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Concord Baptist Church members for all their love, care and support.
