Don Henley Walts
February 11, 1944 - September 8, 2014
Don Henley Walts, 70, of Waco, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at his residence. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 11 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Criswell Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, at the funeral home.
Don was born February 11, 1944 in Groesbeck, Texas to Robert Cleveland and Ola Faye (Stone) Walts. He moved to Bosqueville in 1952 where he attended school and in 1962 he graduated from China Spring High School. Don had worked at Gross Yowell, Borden Milk and Central Texas Corrugated until retiring. Don loved to fish and hunt but his greatest joy was tinkering and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Gaylon Walts.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Walts of Waco; daughter, Jennifer Abbott of Waco; sons, Donald “Peanut” Walts of Waco, Marcus Walts and wife, Lorie of Bellmead, Tracy Handley of Waco and Augstine Deleon of Waco; brother, John Walts and wife, Reba of Waco; grandchildren, Lance, Jesse, Savannah and Courtney; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be, Ronny, John, Robert Glen and Lance Walts, Ricky Horn and Robert Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus and John Walts.
