Mrs. Jess F. Ray Dies At Houston, Rites At Criswell
Mrs. Jess F. Ray, age 57, died in a Houston hospital early Sunday, following two weeks treatment due to illness. She had been in Houston about a month from her McClanahan home where the family had resided and engaged in farming for the past eight years.
She was born near Waco, August 12, 1896.
Funeral services were held at the Criswell Church at 4 p.m. Monday with burial in the cemetery there. Adams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband at McClanahan. Six sons, Johnny E. Ray, Mart; Lester H. Ray and Glenn Ray, Houston; W. L. Ray, Marlin; Murray Ray, McClanahan, and Kenneth Ray, in the U. S. Army in Pennsylvania. Five daughters, Mrs. W. N. Stone, McClanahan; Mrs. O. R. Morgan, Houston; Mrs. John W. Barosky, in Pennsylvania; Mrs. R. J. Alcott, in Mississippi, and Mrs. W. S. Patterson, Waco. Two sisters, Mrs. Bell Garland, in Oklahoma, and Mrs. Willie Herring, Roanoke. Also 21 grandchildren.
