Coy Holden Dies, Rites at Criswell
Coy Holden, 60, of Waco and formerly of the Odds community, died Sunday morning in a Waco hospital. He had been ill several years.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Adams Funeral Chapel in Marlin. Rev. Carl Jones officiated and burial was in Criswell Cemetery in Odds.
Mr. Holden was born January 20, 1915, in Limestone County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ellis Holden. He and the former Miss Madge McElroy married May 14, 1936, in Marlin. They lived in the Odds community several years.
Mr. Holden worked for the Marlin Oil Mills for many years. From 1967 to 1974 he lived in Valley Mills and then moved to Waco. He was a member of Oaks Grove Baptist Church in Valley Mills.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Richard Mark Holden of Houston, Donald Holden of Austin, Joe Holden of Waco and James Roy Holden of Fort Worth; five daughters, Mrs. Patsy Gilliand and Mrs. Charlotte Odum, both of Waco, Mrs. Coy Jones of Hawaii, Mrs. Glenda Sue Jones and Mrs. Margie Bundick, both of Fort Worth; a brother Rev. Ellis Holden Jr. of Graham; four sisters, Mrs. Aline Redwine, Mrs. Bessie Mae Frazier, Mrs. Lessie Fay Vincent and Mrs. Edna Earl Eastwood, all of Fort Worth; and 17 grandchildren.
