Willie David “W. D.” Wolf, of the Criswell community near Groesbeck, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco, at age 75.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Criswell Cemetery.
W. D. was born February 27, 1937 in rural Limestone County, to Walter A. Wolf and Winnie (Simmons) Wolf. He graduated from Marlin High School, Class of 1955. W. D. started working at General Tire in Waco when he was 18, and had worked there, building tractor tires, for thirty-one years when it closed in 1987. In addition to working in Waco, W. D. also farmed all his life, raising hay and cattle on 700 acres at Criswell.
He married Mary Martinez on November 17, 1962 in Marlin, and they lived in Robinson awhile until moving to the farm where they lived the rest of their life. Mary preceded W. D. in death in 2003. The past two years, W. D. had resided at Groesbeck LTC.
Mr. Wolf is survived by his son, Craig Wolf and his wife Jackie of Groesbeck; grandson, Brandon Wolf of Waco and granddaughter, Ashley Wolf of Waco; first cousin, Peggy Springer and her husband Jim of Criswell; and niece, Suzanne Melkoski and her husband Steve of Fort Worth.

Willie David "W. D." Wolf, of Criswell, near Groesbeck, passed away Sept. 27, 2012, at 75. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Criswell Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Groesbeck Funeral Home.
W. D. worked for 31 years at General Tire in Waco, as well as farmed and raised cattle at Criswell all his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Martinez) Wolf in 2003.
He is survived by his son, Craig Wolf and wife, Jackie, of Groesbeck; grandson, Brandon Wolf of Waco; granddaughter, Ashley Wolf of Waco; first cousin, Peggy Springer and husband, Jim, of Criswell; and niece, Suzanne Melkoski and husband, Steve, of Fort Worth.
