Billie Charles Talley
April 3, 1928 - May 25, 2015
Billie Charles Talley, 87, of Lancaster, Texas went to be with his Lord on May 25, 2015 at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Billie was born in Criswell, Texas on April 3, 1928, the son of the late Nora (Broxton) and William Thomas Talley.
Billie graduated from East Texas State Teachers College and Baylor University with a Masters Degree in Education. Billie taught at Dallas ISD from 1960 ~ 1993. Billie served his country in the US National Guard under General Patton and served with Audrey Murphy. He married Lou Jeanne DeVinny on October 3, 1953 in Waco, Texas. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Billie is survived by two sons: Billy and daughter-in-law Jennifer Talley of Lancaster, Texas; Monte and daughter-in-law Nancy DeVinny, of Allen, Texas; one daughter Mayno Jolly of Rockwall, Texas. Dear friend Margie Tanner of Mesquite, Texas.
Billie is also survived by two sisters: Juanita Hamilton of Waco, Texas; Joy Barrett, of Reno, Nevada; one brother, Kenneth Talley of Houston, Texas.
He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many nieces nephews and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lou Jeanne Talley, brothers, Vernon and Truitt Talley, grandchildren Monte Van Lee, Sam and Lee DeVinny.
Visitation will be held 5 ~ 7 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Green Funeral Home, 207 S. Wood St. in Ferris, Texas. Graveside Service will be held at Criswell Cemetery, Falls County, 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2015 with Brother Rick Ayers officiating.
