Harvey Felix Patterson
July 28, 1956 - February 6, 2022
Harvey F. Patterson, 65, of Fort Worth, Texas entered his heavenly home on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Visitation we be 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with a homegoing celebration to begin at 1:00 p.m. with Doug McQueen and Bobby Bridges officiating. Burial will be at Criswell Cemetery.
Harvey was born July 28, 1956 in Waco, Texas to Wade S. Patterson and Wanda L. (Ray) Patterson. Harvey was very active at Bellmead First Baptist Church growing up and was called into the ministry. He graduated from La Vega High School in 1974 and graduated from Howard Payne University in 1982 with a Bachelors in Religious Education. Harvey continued his education at Southwestern Theological Seminary. His love for the Lord, guided him in his life's path serving at several churches through the years. First at Westside Baptist Church in Ft. Worth as a youth minister, then at Arlington Heights Baptist Church in Ft. Worth as an interim pastor, then pastor. He served as house parent at Texas Baptist Children's home in Waxahachie, Texas. He was then pastor at First Baptist Church in Mobeetie, Texas, Luella First Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas, and Clear Creek Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, Texas. Lastly, Harvey served at Garner Baptist Church in Garner, Texas leading music.
He resided at Westside Campus of Care in Ft. Worth for rehabilitation after an accident, ministering to many, praying with residents and staff alike. Harvey never met a stranger and had many friends. He could lift your spirits no matter where you were in life or what you were going through. He loved sports and loved to talk about his favorite teams, La Vega, Baylor, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers. He also loved coloring in adult coloring books, sharing pages with many. Joy and Harvey married on April 24, 2021 after communicating for over a year, beginning a new chapter in his life. He was looking forward to the future with Joy.
He was preceded in death by his dad, mom, step-father, Willie Havranek, and half-brother, Bradley Patterson. Survivors include his wife, Joy Opal Patterson, his step-son, Paul Moore, step-grandchildren, his sister, Cheryl Moore and her husband, Ron; his brother, Garry Patterson and his wife, Marlyn, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Kevin, Justin, Clayton, and Harrison Moore, Daylon Patterson, J.W. Ayala, Jay McKay, and Pepper Puryear.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in remembrance of Harvey.
