Criswell Community Cemetery Association Formed, Officers Named
A group of citizens of the Criswell community and other interested persons met at the Criswell school house Sunday, March 18, and organized the Criswell Cemetery association.
The following officers and directors were elected: Marcus Criswell, president; Charles Stone, vice president; Mrs. May Criswell McCoy, secretary, and Mrs. Ora Bowers Breed, treasurer, all of Marlin; Fred Wolf, Groesbeck route, business manager.
G. B. Stone, Marlin; Albert Wolf, Groesbeck route; Oscar Bonner, Mart, and Billy Criswell, Thornton route, were named directors.
Those interested in the progress of the association and wishing to donate to this work should communicate with the secretary at Marlin.
Further plans for the cemetery association, including the establishment of an annual homecoming event, will be discussed at a directors meeting called for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at the Criswell church.
Assisting in the organization of the association was Robert Burton, veteran officer in the Powers Chapel Cemetery association.
