Criswell Chirps
To The Democrat:
As Criswell is not represented in your correspondence columns, I will write a few lines to let people know that read the good old Democrat that there is such a place in old Falls.
Most farmers are turning the soil, preparing for another crop. Looks like old winter is gone. I am afraid she will come back with double force. The freeze killed all our turnip patches.
I hear the good wives talking gardening. I hope it won’t be long till they will have turnips and pork on the table again.
We are having some dry weather.
Prof. Eddins was making his rounds through this part of the country Friday. He gave the school a pleasant call. We are always glad to have him visit us.
I certainly do approve of the stringent law on tuberculosis in schools, for the children are liable to swallow a germ from the dipper in drinking. I think it would be a good plan to have the health officer to examine every teacher before they are accepted to teach in the public schools.
There will be preaching every fourth Sunday evening at three o’clock by Brother Curlee.
Sam.
