Mary Helen Herendon, 86, of Waco, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Faulkenberry Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Kreder officiating.
On May 2, 1926, Mrs. Herendon was born in Limestone County. She was reared and educated in the Groesbeck area, where she graduated from Groesbeck High School. For many years, she owned and operated the City Cafe in Mart. In 1966, she moved to Waco, where she was employed at the Piccadilly Cafeteria and J.C. Penney.
Her survivors include her son, Charles Herendon of Belton; her grandchildren, Cullen Herendon and wife, Genevieve, of Dallas, and Mindy Herendon and Jake Newhouse of Fort Worth; her great-grandchildren, Sierra Layne and Cora Newhouse of Fort Worth.
