Karen Ledbetter Eaton
Nov. 2, 1956 - Feb. 18, 2017
The value of a woman is not only measured by what she does in life but whom she touches along the way. Karen Ledbetter Eaton, born November 2, 1956, touched many lives while living hers to the fullest. On February 18, 2017, Karen went home to the Lord, surrounded by the love of her family. A visitation has been scheduled for Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Pecan Grove with a wake to follow at the home of her nephew, King Regian. As Karen requested, this will be a time of laughter and remembrance while wearing bright colors and telling stories of fond memories.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Ruth Ledbetter, sister, Delores Regian, brother-in-law and great-nephew.
She is survived by her: fiancé, Billy Ray Jones; sister, Deborah Gonzales; nieces, Tammy, Tonya, Lynelle; nephews, Eddie, John, King, Michael; many great nieces and nephews; and a great-great niece. It has been said, “Only an aunt can give hugs like a mother, keep secrets like a sister and share love like a friend.” This simple phrase encompasses the connection Karen had with her extended family. Her influence went beyond the bounds of family as she became a trusted and true friend to all of her nieces and nephews. Her devotion and loyalty to her sisters and their children will be her legacy when she is remembered and grieved.
Just as her sister, Delores, Karen is no longer bound by the chains of cancer. She has received her perfect heavenly body and is dancing along the golden streets of Heaven. We will miss her on Earth and can take comfort in the knowledge that she will be waiting for us at the gates when we arrive. She truly touched the lives of many and will be forever missed but remembered in our stories and our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation in the name of Karen Eaton to the Community Cancer Association, PO Box 5002, Waco, TX 76708.
