In May 1964, an electric light was installed at the gate for the benefit of evening visitors to the cemetery. The initial expense and subsequent charges were paid compliments of Mrs. Alta Bowers Caddell.

In May 1966, the turnaround area at the entrance gates and the road through the cemetery was graveled.
In 1967, the estate of the late John Chester and Della Petura Criswell Erskine donated funds, as a
memorial to the cemetery, for the erection of an arch with "CRISWELL" lettering and two gates.
