Minutes of Forty-Second Annual Criswell Memorial Service
The forty-second annual Criswell Memorial Service was held on Sunday, June 13, 1993.
Thomas Criswell led the singing of hymns, followed by prayer. Billy A. Stone welcomed everyone. Minutes of previous meetings were read by Joyce Stone, in the absence of Shirley Caddell, followed by the treasurer’s report. The workday was a total success. A lot of work was done by all who came. The grounds were beautiful and the building looks good, thanks to all who helped by work or donation. It took both to get the job done. All reports were approved.
The mortuary list was read by Billy A. Stone with the following names: Donald Williams, Paula McIntosh, Vernon Tatum, Johnny Etheridge, Gussie Fisher, Alta B. Caddell; followed by prayer by Oscar Grisham.
Aaron Watson sang a hymn and asked the congregation to sing along. The message was brought by H. R. Collinsworth. Service was closed by prayer and grace for the noon meal.
At the afternoon meeting, the directors voted on for 1994 to 1997 were Mark Summers, Tom Criswell II, JoAnn Milnes, Gary Smith, Eddie Hill and George Stone. The three elected were Eddie Hill, Gary Smith and George Stone. Election of officers were approved to stay the same: G. Z. Stone, president; B. A. Stone, vice-president; Shirley Caddell, secretary and Joyce Stone, treasurer. All agreed we had a good day and the cemetery looked great. Peaches Stone stated Betty Crawford had helped him and had done a lot of hard work.
