Thirty-Ninth Annual Criswell Memorial Service
The thirty-ninth Criswell Memorial Service was held on Sunday, June 10, 1990.
The program began with a worship service conducted by Church of Christ members present. The speaker, Benny Lucas of Mexia, brought the message.
After the service, hymns were led by Thomas Criswell and special music by Cara Albright, Jane Barron and Ethel Pulark was enjoyed by all. Mortuary list was read: Linda Crawford Saulter, Rosa Chane Brunson, Charlie Vanek and Evelyn Talley.
Minutes were read and approved. Bids were opened for painting overhang: $350.00 including paint. Philip Weathers suggested planting trees in November to shade the building. J. E. Ray has been mowing the north part of the grounds and will not mow this anymore. This matter will be discussed in the directors meeting. Three new directors will be: Chester Tate, Thomas Criswell and O. L. Grisham.
Prayer was offered for meal and meeting adjourned for lunch.
Officers elected at the directors meeting were: Thomas Criswell, president; Opal Boone, vice-president. Secretary Shirley Caddell and treasurer Joyce Stone were re-elected.
The directors decided to ask the man that mows the cemetery what he would charge to mow the front area. Everyone agreed to have the dead trees removed from the area near the ladies restroom.
